Mini Pupillage Diaries...The night before. AAHHHH!!
And so, it is finally here. After months and months of waiting, my mini-pupillage is upon me. Happily, I have done one before so I am not as nervous as I was back in February, however I am pretty nervous! My mum is busy reassuring me that nerves are normal, as only mums can, my suit is cleaned and pressed, shirt ironed, tie chosen, cufflinks ready, shoes polished, bag packed. I am READY!! But then, just how ready can you be to go to a court you have never been to in your life, in a city you barely know, to meet someone you've never met, having no idea what to expect. This is the crisis experienced by mini-pupils all the time.
However, if you should find yourself in this state, remind yourself of this. They will either like you, or they won't. There is no point in trying to impress them, because if you impress them by being fake, they won't appreciate the real you. A friend of mine recently taught me that! Very useful! Also, relax! You are bound to be nervous as it's a big thing for any student to be doing, stepping 5 years into their possible future for just one week. It's a rare thing to be able to take a peek at your future profession before you get there, so try and enjoy it!
So, I am now off to bed. Early start tomorrow! You will hear from me again tomorrow night, or possibly tomorrow morning if I get REALLY bored on the train! Wish me luck!
