Library Treasure Hunt
I took great pleasure last week in awarding the £50 book token kindly donated by Blackwells to the first year law student who won this prize.
It was good to recognise one of the faces from a Library legal workshop.

Hi all,
Our November newsletter has gone out this morning via email - if you haven't got it, let me know and I'll resend (we may have your email wrong if you didn't get it - this is usually down to us getting the bottom copy of the signup form which isn't always legible!).
This month is competition heavy for mooting (internal and external) and negotiation (inaugral internal!) plus we'll be out on the usual socials, and looking at careers - BPTC apps are now open for those looking at the bar.
Thanks,
Sean

This Thursday was the last of the scheduled introductory sessions. If you missed them because of a clash with your seminars please get together as a group and contact me to fix a session for yourselves.
Also watch out for the next group of sessions which will run as clinics to address any problems you are having with finding and using resources including referencing questions. These will run in Library Seminar room 1
19 Nov 2009 12-1 or 1-2 and 26 Nov 2009 12-1 or 1-2 which will give the opportunity for some hands on work with databases if required.

We've now solved the problems with the main Westlaw links so you can now login from both catalogue and database search.
We are now working on the individual links for specific books and journals until these are sorted it is more efficient to search for specific titles in Westlaw itself.
This website is designed for you guys to be able to add content whenever you like - just click create content on the right hand side of the screen, add what you like and click save. The site is designed to be a framework for you to use not just an information distributing site - you guys can chat in the forums, add news stories, ask for help with whatever, vote in polls, create petitions, whatever you like, as well as just reading the data we give - at least 50 of you come on here every single day but it's the same half dozen people adding content most of the time.

Few things to note:
Home premium is an in situ upgrade ie it keeps all installed programs and cos.
Pro is a clean install ie back everything up first as you WILL lose it otherwise.
